Hi, I’m Emily! I’m the founder and owner of Maple & Loft, and I love designing spaces that are unique to you.

I’ve always had a passion for design. Growing up, I was the kid who watched endless hours of HGTV (especially Fixer Upper) instead of keeping up with pop music or the latest TV shows. I always said I wanted to be an interior designer when I grew up, but fast forward a few years, and I decided to take what I assumed was the “practical” route. I studied engineering and landed a job in a chemical manufacturing facility, where I maintained equipment and eventually managed a team of 30.

I did this for many (miserable) years before finally deciding I needed to do something more creative. So, I switched to... nope, not interiors yet—weddings! I worked as a wedding coordinator and in sales for a few years. I loved the industry, but I ultimately realized it wasn’t my true passion. It turns out 10-year-old Emily was right all along!

I’ve designed every home we’ve lived in and have always helped friends and family with their spaces. I became the go-to person for design tips, and after my husband and I moved to New York City—downsizing significantly from a three-bedroom home—I made it my mission to make our new space as styled and organized as possible. With encouragement from loved ones, it finally hit me: I love this, and I’m good at it. I’ve spent the last several months building Maple & Loft, and I’m so excited to help you design your space!

A Little More About Me I live on the Upper West Side with my husband and our adorable cattle dog mix (talk about enormous energy and lots of hair in a small apartment!). We’ve lived in five states together and love exploring new places. When I'm not designing, I love to hike, visit National Parks, and travel. Our favorite destination so far is Barcelona—I still draw so much inspiration from the design there!

I also have a serious love for cinnamon rolls (though I enjoy the eating more than the baking) and am currently on a hunt for the best one in NYC. In fact, when I worked with the branding company Press & Palm to create Maple & Loft, one of the themes that kept coming up was the warmth and comfort of a cinnamon roll. We literally based the brand's "vibe" on one!

I can’t wait to meet you and help you experience the joy, warmth, and comfort of Maple & Loft.
